Through the presentation of “The Marriage Gift” teens are presented with thought provoking questions to consider in relation to sexual activity before marriage. They are presented with straight talk concerning the rewards of sexual abstinence until marriage and the risks of possible consequences of pre-marital sex. In addition, teens are supplied with guidelines for healthy dating relationships, while parents, should they choose to attend the presentation, are given encouragement and advice on how to deal with sensitive topics.
Comments:
Young adults today are faced with media messages and societal norms
that conflict with family values, and as a result are often making
choices that will affect them for life. To help adolescents deal
with these decisions, I have developed a presentation titled, “The
Marriage Gift,” and, in addition, published a book by the same name.

Bio Rebekah L. Pierce is the Editor in Chief of Average Girl Magazine (AVG), a motivational and inspirational magazine for women in search of change, purpose and prosperity. She has definitely defied the odds and can speak from experience that “it’s not about where you’ve been, but where you’re going! Growing up poor in
Stockton

with limited resources, she fought hard for the opportunity to attend college and barely escaped the hands of death at the age of eighteen when she attempted to take her own life to flee the harsh road and lies that were whispered into her spirit about her self-worth. The thought of her mother’s hard work and struggle to give her and her siblings better opportunities superceded those lies and gave her the strength to press on and become the women she is today. As an African-American military veteran and prevailing entrepreneur, Rebekah knows her purpose is to give a voice to women from all walks of life. She is also a playwright, radio talk show host, motivational speaker, teacher, wife and mother.
