Clients also bear witness to the wonderful works of the Lord, especially in the PERC Program (Parenting Education & Referral Center). The Mom’s Support Group seems to be a client favorite. With ten mothers and twelve children, the PRC is filled with beautiful faces and sounds of life: volunteers and staff teaching, mothers talking, and children playing. Mothers study the Word of God and linger for refreshments and companionship after class. The wonderful works of God are seen in the clients' anticipation and apparent hunger to study the Bible. It is a privilege to invest in the lives of these families, where we watch the children grow in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and where their mothers grow as individuals in spiritual development. These PERC clients exemplify the truth of 2 Corinthians 3:3. "You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts" (NIV).
"Thank God for this program,” declares Genavon Jones. “Without PRC,” Genavon explains, “I would not have been able to get through my homeless situation that I was going through at the time. I thank God everyday for everyone that took the time to listen and pray for me and my family when they did. Thank God for God loving people like the PRC."
Lashonda DiPasalegne says the PRC "has helped me during my pregnancy with different items for the baby." She also states that "the Mom’s Support Group has built up my faith in God."
Rachel Miller comments that the PRC has helped her by being a "positive experience; polite, nice, accepting and understanding." Rachel states that she has been most impacted by "studying God’s Word and all. Getting a better understanding of the Bible.”
